Army Lieutenant Colonel on Deputation at AIIMS Gorakhpur Alleges Surveillance, Document Theft and Security Breach; FIR Registered

A Lieutenant Colonel of the Indian Army posted at AIIMS Gorakhpur has alleged surveillance, theft of confidential documents, and security threats involving institutional staff. An FIR has been registered and police have launched a detailed investigation into the suspected espionage-linked incident, examining CCTV footage and questioning individuals for evidence.

A serious case involving allegations of espionage, theft of confidential personal documents, and a potential threat to institutional security has emerged from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Gorakhpur, where a Lieutenant Colonel of the Indian Army, currently serving on deputation as Superintending Engineer, has filed a formal complaint leading to the registration of a First Information Report and the launch of a police investigation.

According to the complaint, the senior military officer has alleged that for the past approximately one and a half years, certain individuals working within the institution, in collusion with others, have been systematically monitoring his movements. The allegations further state that private and confidential documents belonging to him have been repeatedly stolen without any lawful procedure or administrative authorization.

The situation escalated on the night of 26 May 2026 near Gate Number 4 of AIIMS Gorakhpur, when the officer’s personal attendant, Gurpreet Singh, was intercepted by two unidentified individuals. It is alleged that the duo attempted to extract detailed information regarding the officer’s family, residential location, daily routine, and travel routes. When the attendant resisted and attempted to make a phone call, he was allegedly threatened and warned of severe consequences if he disclosed the incident to anyone.

In his formal complaint, the Army officer has expressed suspicion that influential individuals may be involved in the matter. He has further emphasized that, given his status as a serving military officer, the incident could potentially have national security implications and therefore demands a thorough and serious investigation.

Further legal action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
